Pigskin Rules

In a nutshell - we follow the guidelines as set by the ESPN site.  The exception is on the weekly tie-breaker.   It is very important to note that although I am the organizer of the league - I have zero power over the ESPN site.

Take a look at the rules below, and let me know if you have any questions.

How To Play

Pre-Step - Create an ESPN Account / Sign in / Join our Group / Pay your dues

Step 1 - Make YourPicks Each week

Sign into the ESPN site and pick the winning team of each NFL match up.  Just pick the winner.  We don't worry about the spread in this league - just pick the team that wins.

Correct picks are worth 10 PTS.  At the end of the week - a first place and second place will be determined based on total points scored and the winners of the tie-breaker.  Winners will be paid weekly.

Step 3 - Play All Season Long

At the end of the season, the top 3 teams will be rewards with overall prize money.  Total prize money given for weekly and overall winners will be based on total number of people who participate.  Payouts are nice!  If you win one week - that'll pay for your season.

Tie-Breakers

Weekly:

In the event of a tie between multiple Entries for any of the Weekly Prizes the following Tiebreakers will apply.

Each Week will have one (1) Tiebreaker Game as designated by the ESPN site. Unless otherwise noted, the "Tiebreaker Game" is the game played on Monday night at the end of each Week (meaning the game played on the Monday after the games played on the preceding Thursday through Sunday). Entrants may, but are not required to, submit a predicted score for the weekly Tiebreaker Game. This prediction is used for tiebreaker purposes only. If no predicted score is submitted for an entry, it is given a default prediction of zero (0) points to zero (0) points. NOTE: Due to the fact that no Monday night game is scheduled for the 18th week of the season, the Tiebreaker Game will be a game designated on the Promotions website that is currently scheduled to begin on January 20, 2027 at 4:25pm ET.

First Tie-Breaker:

This is a bit different from the ESPN site - but it was one of the OG rules.  Correctly pick the winner of the tie-breaker game.

Second Tie-Breaker:

Player who is closest to tie-breaker score

Third Tie-Breaker:

Player with hightest point total of previous week.

Overall:

In the event of a tie between multiple Entries for any of the "Overall Prizes", the following Tiebreakers will apply:

● Tiebreaker #1 - Highest number of points scored for Week 18

● Tiebreaker #2 - Highest number of points scored for Week 17

● Tiebreaker #3 - Highest number of points scored for Week 16

● Tiebreaker #4 - Highest number of points scored for Week 15

● Tiebreaker #5 - Highest number of points scored for Week 14 Tiebreakers will continue backwards from Week 14 to Week 1.
