Week 1 recap

Pats vs Seahawks

Lots of hype in the Pacific Northwest as the 'Hawks started their season with a solid win over the Pats. Sam Darnold exited early with a hip injury, opening the door for Drew Lock. Drake Maye gave New England a spark early, but Seattle capitalized on fourth-quarter miscues to claim a dramatic 13-10 victory after a late endzone interception shut down the Patriots' final drive.

49ers vs Rams

Opening the season overseas proved pivotal. San Francisco looked dialed in from the start, with Brock Purdy tossing three touchdown passes and Mike Evans finding the end zone in his debut. The Rams managed some first-half flashes, but the 49ers dominated the trenches down the stretch to pull away with a commanding 27-7 division win.

Bears vs Panthers

An absolute offensive explosion featured nearly a hundred combined points. Carolina answered early punches behind Bryce Young, but Chicago's ground game completely took over the second half. Both D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai cleared the century mark as the Bears pulled away in a wildly entertaining shootout.

Bucs vs Bengals

Turnovers dictated the outcome from start to finish. Tampa Bay coughed the ball up four times, proving too costly to overcome on the road. Joe Burrow steered Cincinnati through a choppy afternoon with 254 yards and a key score to Mike Gesicki, letting the Bengals grind out a tough opening victory.

Ravens vs Colts

Baltimore put together a complete performance out of the gate. Lamar Jackson topped 300 total yards while Derrick Henry bullied Indianapolis' defensive front for three scores. After Jonathan Taylor's opening burst, the Ravens erupted for 28 first-half points and never looked back.

Bills vs Texans

Buffalo conquered a tough road test in Houston. CJ Stroud kept the Texans in contention through heavy back-and-forth action, but Josh Allen delivered the dagger with a laser touchdown pass to Trey Palmer. A late strip-sack by the Buffalo defense slammed the door shut on Houston's comeback hopes.

Saints vs Lions

A wild game that came down to the wire in Detroit. After a lopsided start favoriting the Lions, New Orleans rallied with an explosive second half to force overtime. Both teams traded touchdowns in extra time before the Saints came up inches short on a daring two-point conversion try to win it outright.

Jets vs Titans

New York opened the year with clean, efficient football. Geno Smith managed the pocket seamlessly while Breece Hall carried the load with over 100 rushing yards and a score. Tennessee struggled to sustain drives and gave away crucial field position on special teams blunders.

Browns vs Jaguars

Jacksonville controlled this contest in every phase. Trevor Lawrence looked sharp through the air, carving up Cleveland's secondary for four touchdown strikes. The Browns struggled to generate momentum on the ground, leaving Watson under relentless pressure throughout a decisive 34-10 Jacksonville win.

Falcons vs Steelers

Pittsburgh leaned into its trademark defense to lock up Week 1. Shorthanded under center, Atlanta gave up key takeaways including a signature TJ Watt pick-six. While Pittsburgh's offense remained conservative, they did plenty to protect the lead and seal a low-scoring divisional triumph.

Commanders vs Eagles

Philadelphia held off a furious fourth-quarter charge from Washington. Jalen Hurts accounted for three scores and leaned heavily on Dallas Goedert in the red zone. Jayden Daniels rallied the Commanders within striking distance late, but Philadelphia defended the two-point conversion to preserve the win.

Packers vs Vikings

A stunning divisional turnaround defined Sunday in the NFC North. Despite losing Kyler Murray early to an injury, Carson Wentz provided steady leadership, connecting with Justin Jefferson to ignite Minnesota's offense. The Vikings' defense capitalized on Green Bay's second-half miscues to steal a wild 25-22 victory.

Cardinals vs Chargers

The biggest upset of Week 1 landed squarely in Los Angeles. Entering as double-digit underdogs, Arizona surprised the Chargers with physical interior play, timely red-zone stops, and a blocked punt that set up an easy touchdown connection between Jacoby Brissett and Trey McBride.

Dolphins vs Raiders

Las Vegas overcame their own mistakes to hand Miami an opening defeat. While Kirk Cousins threw a pair of picks, he added three touchdown passes to balance the slate. Miami struggled to convert third downs and couldn't capitalize on Ashton Jeanty's strong century mark on the ground.

Cowboys vs Giants

New York silenced the division rival with a dominating ground and aerial display. Jaxson Dart commanded the offense smoothly, throwing three scores while Cam Skattebo wore down Dallas' front. Self-inflicted penalties and untimely drops kept the Cowboys from sustaining drives in a tough Week 1 showing.

Broncos vs Chiefs

Monday night belonged entirely to Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes looked completely healthy maneuvering the pocket, while Kenneth Walker slashed through the Denver defense for explosive chunk gains and a highlight touchdown. The Chiefs dominated the line of scrimmage, cruising to an emphatic 31-10 division statement.
